Mission Viejo, CA (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - The Ensign Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:ENSG), the parent company of the Ensign™ group of skilled nursing, rehabilitative care services, home health care, hospice care and assisted living companies, announced today that it acquired the real estate and operations of McCall Rehabilitation and Care Center, a 40-bed skilled nursing facility located in McCall, Idaho. The acquisition was effective July 1, 2018.
“Our history and track record of successful acquisitions, together with the talented leaders and staff in Idaho that seek to be the provider of choice in their respective communities, give us the confidence to pursue opportunities in the state both big and small,” said Christopher Christensen, Ensign's President and Chief Executive Officer. “Though a relatively small operation, we know this facility will be an important part of the community as those caregivers consistently apply proven best practices,” he added.
"We welcome an amazing group of caring and service-minded individuals into the Pennant family and look forward to the opportunity to serve this great community with the same standards we apply elsewhere in Idaho," said Spencer Burton, President of Pennant Healthcare, Inc., Ensign’s operating portfolio company based in the Pacific Northwest. He added that McCall had an occupancy rate of approximately 70% at the time of acquisition.
Ensign's growing portfolio consists of 185 skilled nursing operations, 22 of which also include assisted living operations, 51 assisted and independent living operations, 22 hospice agencies, 20 home health agencies and four home care businesses and one office building across fifteen states.
